AKWAABA

Welcome to Ghana YAAKO OBITUARY ARCHIVES.  This is a special blog dedicated to everything about death, community rites and ceremonies associated with them in Ghana.

Ghanaians perception and values about death is linked to the life circle events from birth to death which marks the beginning of a spiritual journey from the physical world to the spiritual world.

Depending on the ethnic community, rites varies to reflect the status, values and norms of the family, associations, religious affiliations and cultural expectations.

This is a work in progress and will update it from time to time.
